FAQ
Short answers to common questions about Vane. Each answer links to the page with the full detail.
About the protocol#
What is Vane?#
A non-custodial savings protocol on GIWA Chain that brings 풍차돌리기, the Korean savings ladder, on-chain. You open a six-month stablecoin blade each month; once the wheel is full, one blade matures every month. See the Overview.
Can I deposit today?#
No. The contracts are not deployed and deposits are not open. Deposits are planned to open at GIWA mainnet launch, which has not happened yet. See the Roadmap.
Can I try it before launch?#
Yes, with the simulator. It models a wheel, rolling, withdrawing and early breaks with illustrative inputs. Its outputs are hypothetical and no funds move.
Do I need to connect a wallet?#
Not before launch. Connecting a wallet today only personalises the simulator. The site never requests a transaction or a signature that moves funds.
Is there KYC?#
No. The protocol does not ask for identity information. You remain responsible for complying with the laws of your own jurisdiction.
Which stablecoins can I deposit?#
USD stablecoins. The supported list and the minimum blade size are announced at launch. The list is a governance parameter.
Interest and breaks#
Is the rate fixed?#
No. Interest comes from a yield source and is variable, never fixed or guaranteed, and can be zero. It accrues over the term and is paid at maturity, net of the protocol fee.
What happens if I need cash before a blade matures?#
With a full wheel, the next maturity is at most a month away. If you cannot wait, you can break any locked blade: you receive its full principal and forfeit the interest it has accrued. Your other blades are unaffected. See Early break and redistribution.
Who receives the interest I forfeit?#
Every other blade locked in the protocol at the moment of the break, pro rata to principal × boost. Each receiving blade is paid its share only at its own maturity.
What happens if I do nothing when a blade matures?#
It stays claimable and stops accruing interest. Whether an automatic roll option exists will be confirmed at launch. See Matured blades that are not acted on.
Safety and the token#
Has the code been audited?#
The contracts are not deployed. Audit status will be published before deposits open, and the permission model will be documented with the deployment. See Security and risks.
Can I lose money?#
Yes. Smart-contract, stablecoin, yield-source and chain risks can reduce or delay the return of principal. There is no guarantee of returns.
When does $VANE launch?#
Launch timing is announced on @VaneGiwa (opens in a new tab). The token is not live and has no contract address. Any token presented as $VANE before an announcement there is not official. See $VANE token.
Is Vane affiliated with GIWA or Upbit?#
No. Vane is an independent project built on GIWA Chain. It is not affiliated with, partnered with or endorsed by GIWA or Upbit.
